INTRO Dear reader, this is my final post on the project I started this semester for my class named Careers in Music, here at the University of Arizona Fred Fox School of Music. It was an attempt to record my first studio album. I chose this project because:
TIMELINE This project would last eight weeks total (with Spring Break in between to catch up). At the beginning of the semester, I had to come up with a timeline, breaking down each of the eight weeks and planning ahead. But my performance injury changed it significantly. OUTCOME What happened on Wednesday, April 10, 2019? My first experience in the recording studio! It was terrifying! Only when I sat on the piano and Jake said "Bach Fantasy, Take 1", only then I realized what I mentioned above; that the studio is the last stop on a pianist's journey. These pieces are new for me; I was asking too much of myself. Anyway, I recorded my Bach, because it was the only piece in perfect shape, and because the session was only one day. I attempted to record the Scriabin too, but the last part had some tricky passages that did not go as well.
