INTRO Hello, dear reader. I am glad you visited again. As promised, I will be posting weekly updates on the project I am undertaking this semester; my first studio recording. Hooray! I chose this project for a class I am taking at the the University of Arizona, Fred Fox School of Music, named Careers in Music.
Therefore, my goal for the next eight weeks or so, is to record the repertoire I am currently working on: J. S. Bach: Fantasia and Fugue in A minor, BWV 904 | Schumann: Fantasie in C major, Op. 17 | Scriabin: Fantasie in B minor, Op. 28 | Albright: Nightmare Fantasy Rag from the Dream Rags. HEY, READER! Noticed that all the pieces are Fantasies? I swear I did not do it on purpose... WEEKLY UPDATE Unfortunately, not all things turned out well during this past week. Immediately after my first blog post here, my left thumb started hurting. I can't remember what I did; either too much pressure and wrong technique while practicing, or accidentally I lifted something quite heavy for my skinny arms - in addition to bad posture and computer overuse and typing. The bottom line is that, a pain starting from the left thumb gradually moved up to the forearm, the arm, and shoulder.
To conclude, my recording sessions and practice have been pushed to a later time. I also found out that I can only access the studio for 2 to 4 hours, which means I should be 150% ready for a performance before attempting to record. Here is what I learned during this past week, and encourage all musicians to do:
Dear reader, thanks.
